Police in Solomon Islands investigating an attack on a Regional Assistance Mission vehicle last week, have found 14 cartridges at the scene where they believe the gunman had stood while firing on the vehicle.

Police officials say that of the 14 cartridges found, only two were empty shells and the others were live ammunition.

They say the bullets came from an SR 88 semi-automatic confirming their belief that a high powered weapon was used in the shooting.

Police say no one has come forward with any information yet and investigations are continuing.
