A broad cross section of organisations and the Solomon Islands Government are meeting today in a collaborative effort to fight HIV/Aids.
Oxfam Australia will assist the Ministry of Health and the Solomon Islands National Aids council to review their national response to the disease.
A programme officer for Oxfam, Deloras Elema, says the talks are a recognition of the need to take action:
"I think because this is a first, its a step forward in bringing people together and trying to co-ordinate activities in the country."
Deloras Elema says the Fiji based Pacific Regional HIV/Aids project, funded by AusAid, will visit the Solomons this month .
