Solomon's GG apologises to people of Guadalcanal on behalf of those from other provinces

Solomon Islands Governor General, Nathaniel Waena, has thanked, as well apologised to the people of Guadalcanal on behalf of the other provinces.

Speaking during a visit to two schools in the province, Mr Waena said that on behalf of fellow Solomon Islanders from other provinces, he thanked the people of Guadalcanal for allowing them to stay on their land and develop commercial activities.

He told the Solomon Island Broadcasting Corporation that the people of the island had had to host others because of the siting of the capital, Honiara

He also apologized for what other fellow Solomon islanders may have committed against the indigenous Guadalcanal people.
