The University of the South Pacific says it still hasn't confirmed the appointment of a new vice chancellor.
Local reports in Fiji say the USP council has appointed an American academic now based in Australia, Dr Anthony Ashton Tarr, to succeed Savenaca Siwatibau, who died last year.
But the Director of Communications at the USP in Suva, Steven Ward says negotations are still underway and a statement can be expected within the next two weeks.
