Early results show that some high profile Cook Islands mayors in danger of being dumped

Partial results in Cook Islands Mayoralty elections suggest that two high profile incumbents could be voted out of office.

With special votes still to be counted, Atiu Mayor, Aneru Tautu, trails challengers Rakeimata Koronui and Nooroa Kae

In Penrhyn, Takahi Paulo appears to have unseated incubent, Tini Ford.

New mayors have also been elected in Mitiaro, Manihiki and Mangaia.

Tai Herman, mayor of Aitutaki has a forty vote lead over his deputy John Baxter.
