The Solomon Islands government has committed an additional 3 million US dollars to improve public infrastructures.

The Minister for Finance and Treasury, Francis Zama, says two million US dollars will be transferred to the development budget for a range of capital projects, as well as specific projects for Police, Commerce and Customs.

The remaining funds will be used for the refurbishment of substandard and condemned buildings, roads and other infrastructures that are said to be crucial to promote economic growth.
