The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Sir Allen Kemakeza, has farewelled slain Australian police officer, Adam Dunning, describing his death as the saddest moment in the 18 month old Regional Assistance Mission.

In a funeral service at the RAMSI base, Sir Allan called the killing a cowardly act that the Government and the people of Solomon Islands condemn in the strongest possible terms.

He said his Government remains committed to supporting the work of RAMSI.

The Prime Minister said Mr Dunning's death will give additional resolve and commitment to the campaign to bring a sustainable peace and stability to the country.
