The hunt in Solomon Islands for the killers of Australian Federal Police officer, Adam Dunning, is continuing with road checks being set up in various areas of Honiara.

Residents of Kakabona, a village on the western outskirts of the capital, witnessed a road check being set up in their area over the weekend.

The residents reported that RAMSI police told them to be vigilant about vehicles that had dark tinted windows.

This follows reports that two more guns were discovered over the weekend.

Meanwhile, all police personnel serving with the mission in the country have been restricted to their base headquarters.

They are being provided personnel armed escort when they leave the base.
