Tourism stakeholders in Fiji have expressed serious concern about revelations of the existence of child sex tourism in the country.
It follows Fiji Television's broadcast of an interview with a 15-year old boy at the weekend in which he said he was earning up to a thousand US dollars a week from child sex.
The boy said his clients were mainly tourists from Australia, New Zealand, the United States and South Korea.
The chief executive of the Fiji Visitors Bureau, Bill Gavoka, says he is always troubled by reports of the downside of tourism.
Mr Gavoka says there are only a few people on the fringe of society who give Fiji a bad name.
He says the Fiji Visitors Bureau will do its best to screen out and discourage undesirable people from coming to Fiji.
The minister for tourism, Pita Nacuva, says the report is a challenge to the government to deter youth from turning to tourism.
