Police in Samoa have exhumed the body of a 25-year-old man who died after being attacked whilst he was fishing in the sea.

The family of Sau Seumanutafa Inoti buried him after he was brought to shore with severe wounds, possibly shark bites, to his chest and stomach.

But Police arrived the next day and took the body to the main hospital of Savai'i Island at Tuasivi to be examined.

The deceased had been fishing for giant clams with four others from Falealupo village when he was attacked beyond the reef.

Inoti was pulled from the water by his fishing companions after one of them heard him scream and noticed blood in the sea where they were fishing.
