Another Solomons MP joins government ranks

A new member of the Solomon Islands parliament, James Tora, has joined the government of Sir Allan Kemakeza from the parliamentary opposition.

Mr Tora was recently elected to represent Ulawa-Ugi in the Makira-Ulawa Province.

Solomon Islands radio says Mr Tora has now been appointed as Chairman of the Board of the Solomon Islands Water Authority.

The defection is the latest political re-alignment which has this week seen two ministers sacked as a no-confidence move is planned against the government .
