Niue election on April 30th

Niue is to go the polls on April 30th.

The Niue news website says around 800 Niueans will vote for the 20 members of the assembly.

It says the 23,000 Niueans living overseas are not entitled to vote.

The website picks a former high commissioner to New Zealand, Hima Takelesi, as the replacement for former premier Sani Lakatani.

But it says other changes are unlikely and predicts that Young Vivian will remain premier, though he could be challenged by the finance minister, Toke Talagi.
