Solomons police seek well educated recruits

Police in Solomon Islands are planning a selective recruitment drive to attract more highly educated people to the force.

Commissioner of Police, William Morrell says while the new recruits who just passed out and are serving their two year probation are doing well, more are needed.

"The ones who have already graduated in the last six months are doing very, very well and we are very impressed wiyt them. We have had one incident where an officer was involved in a discipline matter and he has been dismissed."

Mr Morrell says another new batch of officers are already being put through a rigorous training regime.
