A man has died on the premises of the presidential palace in French Polynesia in what police say appears to have been a suicide.
The man has been identified as a 49-year-old man from Europe who had been in the territory for about 18 months.
Police says they were notified in the early hours that a man had died of stabbing wounds.
A post-mortem examination is being carried out to establish the cause of death.
