French Polynesia's Tahoeraa eyes coalition deal with ADN

French Polynesia's Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party says the choice of Gaston Tong Sang as presidential candidate is not the end of the party leader, Gaston Flosse.

The party's central committee nominated Mr Tong Sang to stand against Oscar Temaru of the Union For Democracy.

The Tahoeraa's communications manager, Yves Haupert, says the party may be able to work with the Alliance For A New Democracy.

"It's just the candidate for this election and it is also an option for a future coalition maybe with the people from ADN. They have said it is possible for them to make a coalition with the Tahoeraa but not if President Flosse is a candidate."
