The Pacific Islands Forum has offered its assistance to help the upcoming elections on the Papua New Guinea island of Bougainville.
Bougainville is to hold a poll starting on May 20th to elect its first autonmous government.
The Forum says its offer has been accepted by the PNG Government.
It says it is now in discussions about what sort of help it might provide, but suggests this could include electoral support before polling.
