Virgin Blue to launch Sydney Nadi flights

11:36 am on 10 March 2005

The Australian airline, Virgin Blue, is to start flying between Sydney and Nadi four times a week from late June.

The new route will complement Virgin's existing flights from Melbourne and Brisbane to Nadi, which began in September last year.

The airline's chief executive, Brett Godfrey, says Virgin Blue is happy to provide a stimulus to the sustainable development of tourism in Fiji.

But Mr Godfrey has called on the Fiji government to provide a more even playing field by eliminating ongoing delays for routine approvals.

Fares between Sydney and Nadi will start at 159 Australian dollars on the Internet plus taxes, fees and surcharges of 96 Australian dollars
