Some candidates from Vava'u in this Thursday's general election in Tonga are
complaining bitterly that a private radio station in Vava'u, Peau'o Vava'u FM, has been refusing to air any of their campaign speeches and notices.
Radio Tonga says they have been approached by candidates who have been told that the only candidate being given air time on Peau'o Vava'u FM is 'Etuate Lavulavu.
Meanwhile, both Radio Tonga One and Television Tonga's airtime are virtually fully booked with campaign speeches and panel discussions featuring most of the candidates, either as individuals or in groups.
All campaigning for the election must cease from midnight tomorrow night.
