The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat has received nearly half a million dollars from Taiwan for educational scholarships for students in the region.
It is the latest donation to the regional scholarship scheme since it began in 2001.
Ten long-term awards have been given to students from Kiribati, Samoa, Solomon Islands, where six students have been selected, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
The study awards for 2005 cover courses in education, law, marine and environmental science, computer science, information systems, physiotherapy and agriculture.
Four regional organizations also received funding for short-term awards.
