There are claims in Fiji that the government senator jailed for life for inciting mutiny, Ratu Inoke Takiveikata, was planning unrest in Suva Prison.
Fijilive reports police have confirmed that they would be questioning Takiveikata.
Assistant Police Commissioner of Crime, Kemueli Bulamainaivalu says police have received information that suggests Takiveikata was the source of the rumours which have been circulating within the prison walls.
It's understood the prisoners were told to be ready for the alleged unrest next Tuesday.
Police have questioned a number of prison officers and prisoners in relation to the case.
Last year the High Court judge Justice Anthony Gates found Takiveikata guilty of inciting mutiny in 2000.
Takiveikata is due to appear in the Suva magistrates court on the 31st of March in connection to charges of drink driving.
