Six men went on a rampage early yesterday morning, trashing cars and stores in the American Samoa village of Maloloa.
Police say the men stoned shops and other buildings along the yacht quay.
Apparently drunk, the group also assaulted some people.
An officer received head injuries from the melee.
A woman said she reported the incident to the police, however it was awhile before they turned up.
The woman said some police units had to rush off for cover when the young men aimed for them.
Cars who were passing by in the area were also stoned.
The suspects were apprehended and are expected to be charged today with property damage and causing injuries to a police officer.
