The on-going investigation into alleged embezzlement at American Samoa's Community College financial office is on hold as the college and investigators await the arrival of off-island auditors.

A College employee, suspected of embezzling students' tuition and other income, allegedly perpetrated the theft during the school's 2002-2003 fiscal year

The employee, who is reported to have been suspended, is suspected of embezzling close to 60,000 US dollars of college money collected from students' annual tuition and registration fees and lost library book fees

The College's President, Adele Satele Galea'i, has declined to comment on the alleged offence or the employee's status.
