Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele, has held discussions with American Samoa's Lt. Governor, Ipulasi Aitofele Sunia, in Apia, over travel between the two Samoas.
Samoa's Prime Minister said arrangements for travel between the two countries had largely proceeded on an informal basis.
But the Prime minister said there was now a need for certainty in the process and requirements for travel.
He went on to present suggestions for the American Samoa Government to consider.
The Lt. Governor responded that the American Samoa Government would try to ensure that the 14 day permit system would be administered effectively and efficiently and noted the concerns which were raised by the Prime Minister.
