The French Polynesian fisheries minister has expressed concern at the problems with the fishing vessels that have been built on the territory's behalf in China.

Keitapu Maamaatuaiahutapu has visited the Papeete port where he has been told of serious technical problems with the boats which were built to give the territory a fleet to catch tuna.

The minister has told the Tahitipresse news agency that their construction should have been supervised better.
