The latest figures released by the Cook Islands Statistics Office show Cook Islands residents are still leaving for overseas.

The Cook Islands News reports that last year 9-hundred and 42 more residents left the country than returned.

It's an increase over 2003, when 884 more residents departed than arrived in the country.

The data is based on the immigration arrival and departure cards as collected by immigration officers.
