About 37,000 US dollars is to be allocated to cover a project in Vanuatu on the management of coastal and fisheries resources and environment.

The study, which is being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, is expected to start in October and run for three years.

Some of the targeted species to be covered include green snails, trochus, giant clams, mud crabs, sea cucumbers and seaweed culture.

Together with fisheries officials, a delegation from the Japanese agency visited possible project sites in Efate, Malekula, Santo, Aneityum and Aniwa islands
