The Solomon Islands high court has adjourned to Friday next week a decision on the trial of former senior police officer Wilfred Akao and former senior government officer Michael Anita.
Both men were jointly tried in court last month on charges of alleged abduction and assault causing bodily harm.
Anita was also tried on three counts of alleged rape and a count of common assault.
The charges relate to an incident in 1996 when both accused allegedly committed those offences.
Justice John Brown was to have handed down his judgement today, but the lawyer acting for defendant Anita did not turn up in court.
