Fiji Visitor's Bureau says Yasawa chain still ripe for development

The Chief Executive of the Fiji's visitor's bureau, Bill Gavoka, says there is still plenty of scope for development in the Yasawa chain of islands.

In the past few months a number of new projects have been advertised in New Zealand newspapers.

Mr Gavoka says the Yasawas are scarcely populated and there is still room for tourism to grow, but he says care has to be taken:

"It is a continuing challenge when you develop the toruism in some of these far flung islands, but the infrastructure is sufficient to to maintain an operation of that size, they are mostly small, and like I said we are very very careful that we don't overwhelm the eco system in those areas."
