Solomon Islands will be among five countries in the Pacific that will benefit from a Taiwanese hospital exchange programme.

The others are Palau, Kiribati, Tuvalu and Marshall Islands.

A media report from Taipei says five Taiwanese hospitals will engage in the exchange programme.

It says the Taiwanese Department of Health has yet to select which hospitals will take part in the project, but the department will be allotted an annual government budget of 47,400 US dollars to provide medical technology and equipment to the Pacific nations.
