Authorities in French Polynesia are reporting a rise in international air passenger arrivals.
Tahitipresse reports the six regularly scheduled international airlines serving Tahiti carried 6.2 per cent more first quarter passengers than a year ago.
The trend was led by Air Tahiti Nui's 15 per cent increase in passenger volume, and Chilean carrier LAN with a rise of just over four per cent.
However the first quarter report by the French Civil Aviation Office shows Air France carried only about one per cent more passengers than a year ago.
Air New Zealand carried nearly 13 per cent fewer passengers in the first quarter.
Hawaiian Airlines and Air Caledonie International had more or less same number of seats as a year ago.
