The bodies of three Israeli tourists who died in a whitewater rafting accident in Papua New Guinea, are expected to be transferred to Australia today.

Israeli consular officials in Australia will make arrangements to send the bodies home.

PNG's Tourism Minister, David Basua, has sent his condolences to the families of those who died last Wednesday on the Watut River in Morobe Province.

Mr Basua said the tragedy had come at a time when PNG was slowly gaining international exposure as a whitewater rafting destination.
