The High Court of the Solomon Islands has dismissed a contempt case brought by Russell Island Plantations saying it was a quarrel that had to be settled by the Trade Disputes panel.
It was alleged that employees had ignored an earlier court order which had ruled the worker's strike illegal.
The strike action by staff over pay and working conditions has continued for over a year.
The case involved RIPEL management calling for financial compensation and the imprisonment of union leaders representing workers and certain employees at the copra company in Yandina.
The presiding judge has dismissed the motion and made no order as to costs.
