10:34 am on 21 June 2005

The Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association has expressed strong concern about the government's Reconciliation and Unity Bill because of its political implications.

The association president, Dixon Seeto, says they are concerned about the deep divisions caused in Fiji by the tabling of the Bill.

He says the Bill cannot be allowed to go on because it will seriously impact on the the tourism industry and they cannot sit back and do nothing.

Mr Seeto says the Hotel and Tourism Association's annual general meeting has decided to appoint a sub-committee to make a formal submission on the Bill which will vigorously express its views and those of its members.
