American Samoa's Acting Treasurer, Francis Leasiolagi, says the territorial government expects to break even for Fiscal Year 2005, which ends on September 30th.

He says revenue collection was down in the first part of the year but he expected that by the end of the fiscal year revenues would recover.

He says the canneries' corporate tax payments are usually paid in July and collections are also picking up.

Last week, a DOI economist, Dr. Wali Osman, reported during minimum wage hearings, that the government's most recent progress indicated a projected shortfall.
