Papua New Guinea's National Agriculture Research Institute laboratory has been destroyed by fire.
The National newspaper reports that the laboratory in Port Moresby, one of the largest in the South Pacific, was gutted after chemicals stored in a refrigerator exploded.
The laboratory serves nearly all other South Pacific countries with soil, food, water and plants sampling.
