Employees of American Samoa's LBJ Hospital are to present their own containment proposal to the Hospital Authority Board today.

The plan, which was approved at an employee meeting yesterday, calls for a change in the leadership of the hospital and elimination of positions which are unbudgeted or were specially created.

It also calls for those in administration and already retired or nearing retirement to leave and removal of some of the 88 hires made in the last year which are non essential.

The employees are also calling for an increase in federal and local government subsidies to the hospital.

The hospital needs $15 million to pay debts and is predicting a deficit of 2 point 6 million dollars for the current fiscal year which ends in September
