New Zealand Aid says there's a full agenda for the next set of regular talks between New Zealand and Niue, which are to be held in Niue this week.

The joint consultative group meets six-monthly, and the focus this time will be on implementing the arrangment both countries signed during the visit to Niue of the New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark, last October.

The Pacific Director at NZAid, Craig Hawke, says the emphasis is on economic development and on strengthening government and the public sector in Niue.

"We have discussions around new arrangements in the health sector between Counties Manukau District Health Board and Niue, and we have a range of other New Zealand Government departments like support for the Police, and there is going to be support in the Statistics, Fisheries, Financial Management, Taxation and Immigration sides."
