Strike affects five Air NZ flights to Cook Islands

Two Air New Zealand flights to the Cook Islands have been cancelled this week due to strikes by cabin crew.

The union representing 1000 cabin crew, FARSA are still in talks with Air New Zealand over pay increases and other job conditions.

The Cook Islands News reports that Saturday's flight from Auckland to Rarotonga to Auckland has been cancelled affecting 230 local joining passengers in Rarotonga.

Another flight scheduled for Saturday arriving from Auckland and going to Papeete and Los Angeles has also been cancelled, affecting 90 passengers who would have boarded in Rarotonga.

Meanwhile, three other flights taking in the Cook Islands this weekend have been rescheduled.
