10:29 am on 25 July 2005

More than ten thousand people packed into Honiara's Town Ground at the weekend to dance to Australian band Yothu Yindi and celebrate the second anniversary of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon islands.

The free concert also included performances by local bands and cultural groups.

Two government ministers from Australia and New Zealand represented their countries at the two-day celebration.

In a message marking the occasion, Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, praised RAMSI for what he described as "the outstanding performances its military, police and civilian personnel continue to render to Solomon Islands."
