More than 2,000 public servants have marched on the Tongan parliament to present a petition calling for a fairer pay scale.
The march came after workers went on an indefinite strike and held a rally in Nuku'alofa on Friday.
The public servants are protesting against a hefty wage rise received by senior members of the public service.
A spokesman for the striking group, Finau Tutone, says the strike has gained momentum despite government calls to return to work.
