The economy of the Solomon Islands is getting a boost in the form of two pieces of legislation.

The Minister for Commerce, Walton Naezon, says the Indigenous Business policy will provide better information and easier access to credit for the local business people while the Foreign Investment Bill will streamline the way foreign investors are dealt with.

Mr Naezon says after the ethnic crisis and its knock-on effect on the economy, he's feeling positive once again that the economy is recovering.

"We are confident there are a lot of investors are coming, the gold mining companies, yesterday we commenced the credit corporation. There are a lot of big investors coming and there are a lot of exploration coming."
