The Papua New Guinea Defence Force Commander has been accused of creating a private army to provide security for his family.

Morobe Governor Luther Wenge has alleged in parliament that the Commander has a full-time private army to look after his wife everywhere she goes.

In his question to Defence Minister Mathew Gubag, he alleged that the commander also had put Defence personnel on full-time to look after his children at school.

He says the Defence personnel would sit all day outside the school and take the children home.

Mr Wenge alleges the commander has also deployed up to 15 personnel as security at his office and everywhere he goes they follow him.
