Forecasters are monitoring a weather system south east of Palau, which they say may form into a significant tropical cyclone within the next 12 to 24 hours.
However the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre in Hawaii says the available data doesn't justify the issuance of numbered tropical cyclone warnings.
The system is moving north west at 16 kilometres an hour.
The maximum sustained surface winds are estimated at 46 kilometres an hour.
The warning centre says the potential for the development of a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is good.
