Two men in New Caledonia have been sent to jail for six months for assaulting police.
The Nouvelles Caldoniennes newspaper says the prosecution asked for an eighteen-month sentence for injuring the police officers who were attacked with rocks in La Foa.
Police intervened after the two men began vandalising a gymnasium and cars at a school.
