Fiji call centre introduces phone sales

9:48 am on 2 August 2005

Fiji's first call centre has begun selling products over the phone for telecommunication company Optus and other similar operations.

The Fiji Times reports that Fonexia Contact Centre employs 24 staff at present but hopes to increase the figure to 5,000 in the future.

Its chief executive, Dave Evans, says his company is competing against countries which have big call centres such as India and the Philippines.
