The Samoa Democratic United Party says it will design a programme to get its message to the public insead of going through the Samoa Broadcasting corporation.
Party leader Le Mamea Ropati has accused SBC TV One of heavily censoring coverage of the weekly media conferences of the Opposition.
He says the Opposition will design a media programme to get its message out to the villages in the Apia area.
Le Mamea said that their press conferences are always
heavily censored by the SBC and presumably the
Prime Minister, to make the HRPP look as if it is incapable of answering questions raised on matters of importance and concern to the people of Samoa.
The chief executive of the SBC, Lei Sam Matafeo, says the SBC doesn't censor.
But she said they do edit remarks by the Opposition that are defamatory in nature.
She said this includes swear words and theft allegations against government.
The CEO said statements by the PM are also edited if they are defamatory.
