Two oil companies providing petroleum products to American Samoa say corrective measures are now in place to comply with US Environmental Protection Agency requirements.

Last week USEPA ordered Mobil Oil Australia and BP Southwest Pacific to pay over US$90,000 in penalties and spend more than US$246,000 to buy equipment for LBJ hospital.

The two companies were fined for alleged violations of federal regulations in the territory.
