The US Federal Emergency Management Agency says recovery efforts from Typhoon Nabi in the Northern Mariana Islands are likely to cost about a million dollars.

The Saipan Tribune newspaper reports officials found that five homes were lightly damaged, 10 had minor damage, six had major damage, and nine were completely destroyed.

The money will pay for electricity lines to be restored and to remove trees threatening power lines and main thoroughfares.

No casualties were reported after Typhoon Nabi hit Saipan and Tinian last Wednesday.
