Rain and high winds cause damage in French Polynesia

Unseasonably heavy rain and strong winds have caused damage in many parts of French Polynesia.

Dozens of homes on Bora Bora have been flooded and some have been completely destroyed.

Guest at two major hotels had to be evacuated.

On Raiatea, several dozens houses were flooded.

At least eight airports in the Tuamotu archipelago have been shut because of the flooding.

There are no reports of injuries.
