A seventh soldier from American Samoa has been killed in Iraq.

Army officials say Master Sergeant Tulsa Tuliau was part of a convoy headed to join an Iraqi contingent when their patrol hit an improvised explosive device.

The 33-year-old Tuliau was a San Francisco native who grew up in American Samoa.

He had served in both Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tuliau, who lived in California, is survived by his wife and two children, as well as his mother.
